About Lacombe Services

Why should I visit a travel clinic?

There are many things to consider while traveling abroad and our pharmacists at Lacombe Travel Clinic are here to support you with your travel and health needs! There are many illnesses that can be caught while traveling, such as hepatitis A, hepatitis B, malaria, traveler’s diarrhea, and many others. We can help get you well-prepared for your trip, whether you require vaccinations, medications, or health supplies. We also educate you about traveling abroad and precautions to take while you are away.

How does it work?

We provide our services over two appointments:

  • Meet & Greet: This is where we get to know you and learn more about you and your trip. We will consider your destination, duration of trip, activities you’ll be doing, and your health history to ensure you are well-protected while you’re away. Our pharmacists can prescribe and administer the necessary vaccines and travel medications required for your trip.
  • Follow-up: Before you leave for your trip, we meet again to ensure you have everything you need before you leave the country, provide detailed counselling on all health risks and make sure you know what you need to do.

How soon before my trip should I visit a travel clinic?

Because some vaccines require more than one dose, we recommend that you visit a travel clinic two months before your date of travel. However, better late than never! There is always something that can be done at the last minute, like vaccinating for Hepatitis-A or preparing you for Travellers Diarrhea.

How much does it cost?

We offer different levels of service depending on your needs! Click here to view our available service packages.

Do I need these services even if I’m just taking a quick trip?

You never know what you might encounter while traveling and it can be complicated to access health services in other countries. We recommend giving us a call for any trip abroad and we can discuss your needs. You will always find honest advice.

Do I need to have travel vaccinations?

Your health is important! Vaccines help prevent various diseases that can impair the way you live your life. Some vaccines, such as the Yellow Fever vaccine, are mandatory before entering certain countries.

Do you provide services for vaccines other than for travel?

  • We assist many patients with their vaccination needs, including those who are looking to catch up on their childhood immunizations and people working in various healthcare settings who need up-to-date immunizations, as well as students preparing for vaccines required by their educational institutions.
  • We offer TB testing on site.
  • We serve group travellers, offsite if needed. We also provide a venue for companies looking to vaccinate their employees, and we take care of corporate accounts.
